TRAGIC

I met you
When you were shaking in your boots
As if you were an earthquake
Vibrating against the world
Two tectonic plates
You and I
Like we were made to be against each other

Whether in love
Whether in hate
I can't rid myself of your memory
Of the warmth we shared
When we had little earthquakes together
Whether in passion
Whether in enmity

You took my light
My love
You threw it in my face
As if it never mattered to you
You broke the promises
I forced you to speak
Despite knowing your truth

I knew the risk
When I gave you that ring
But I never thought
You'd go behind my back
I never thought our earthquakes
Would separate us so much
To the point of you shattering me

I gave you my heart
And you bled it dry
No more pumping
No more loving
My heart palace is falling apart
The pillars in my chest crumble
Leaving the emptiness in my stomach

The tears coming from my ducts
Rain onto an empty landscape
A thunderstorm with no resolve
The lightning, my malice,
Strikes the ground hard
When I stomped away from you
Every step harder than the last

I tripped somewhere along the way
A ways away from you
Trying to run away
I fell face first onto my ocean
A saltwater body
I couldn't drown in it
But a part of me wanted to

I tried to get up
But the pillars inside me are gone
The palace of my heart has fallen
And I regretted everything I ever did
I wish I never built the palace
With the intention of welcoming you inside
I wish we never shared that warmth

And when you got cold
I wish I never shared my gift with you
Giving you my warmth
Without conditions
When I gave you my hoodie
You never gave it back
When I ran away

Or rather, I never had time to get it back
I was too distracted by my distraught
It was far too late for me
I had to escape the crumbling palace
I was a paladin for my heart
But ever since you pushed me away
My passion escaped me

So now, the earthquake tears me apart
And I cry my little tears
Screaming into the world
As I carry myself away
A tale like this
Sending ripples through everyone's heart
Truly is tragic
