Ephemera

Sister, I'm Afraid

I feel myself slipping tonight
Knowing tomorrow I'll wake up
And I won't be there for you
Knowing tomorrow, we'll wake up
And we'll be going our separate ways

You're becoming something I never knew I needed
And I'm becoming something that would've helped you
And it's colliding, forcefully, fiercely
The truth is, I don't want to leave you
But I fear I must
For the greater of both our lives

I'll take my anger with me
My sadness
My hatred
My discontent
And I'll leave you only my happiness
My pride
I'll leave you the good in me
And I'll take all the bad stuff

Sister, I'm afraid I must leave you
Sister, I'm afraid of losing you
Sister, I'm afraid of becoming something
Sister, I'm afraid of tearing us apart
Sister, I'm afraid of leaving you
Sister, I'm afraid I must lose you
Sister, I'm afraid I must become something
Sister, I'm afraid I must tear us apart

Sister, never forget my love for you
Sister, never forget the tears I cry
Sister, never forget the pain I bring with me
Sister, never forget the scar I left behind

Sister, never forget me
