i walk the smile mile
carefully paving the road
for people behind me
who may walk
a similar mile
i carry my shovel and stones
carving a path
decorating it
for you
and for everyone else
i'm content with this
i want this mile to be yours
to be everyone's
i want to walk the smile mile
with all of you
the lot of you
so i place stone after stone
and dig and dig
to carve out the smile mile
so we can walk together
all of us
